Isabel Aimee New Album ‘Aligned’

CAMBRIDGESHIRE, ENGLAND, April 21, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Once in a while a truly unique artist comes along; making music that is genuinely original. Isabel Aimee is releasing her new album 'Aligned' at the beginning on June. This kind of talent is irrepressible. She is inspired by other empowered female artists like Gazelle Twin, Kate Bush and Björk.

Isabel started her project, 'INSPIRITION' in 2006, releasing 'Truth Telling' written with her five piece band, which enjoyed commercial success in Canada and the USA. Isabel has a high profile fan in Stevie Nicks, who has written in glowing terms about her work, saying "We should have more music like this!" Isabel's INSPIRITION project collected more than 24,000 fans worldwide and 37 radio stations currently play her music, including BBC airplay. She plays dozens of gigs every year in London and the South West, at festivals both at home and abroad."
Isabel Aimee is a force to be reckoned with. Her voice dances through otherworldly ranges like the sound of mysterious spirits, world songs and real eclectic and original mix of dance, acoustic, guitar, jazz and soothing vocal. Think Celine Dione meets Bjork.

Music is only one talent that comes underneath Isabel Aimee, her work is constantly changing and she doesn't like to pigeon-hole herself as one particular artist. She is extremely spiritual and immerses herself into an imaginative world, teaching Drama, writing books, erotic texts, knitting, writing plays and playing instruments. During all this creativity she has completed her PHD in Architecture.

"My little granddaughter kept asking me to "turn it up" she was dancing around the whole room in delight at your music!"
- Michael Eavis, Glastonbury Festival

    About Mushy Callahan:
Incredible lyrics, powerful multi-vocal harmonies, beefy bass riffs, arena-quality guitar solos, and layered musical touches are all characteristic of the classic rock band, Mushy Callahan. This band, made up of four very talented brothers, has already been awarded many honors, including winning The Edge 102.1 indie band of the month. They have also made an appearance at Edgefest 2012 along big names such as The Sheepdogs, Silversun Pickups, Billy Talent, and Yukon Blonde. As 102.1 The Edge DJ Dave "Bookie" Bookman described them of having, "A real passion - with a real technical prowess." Part of the band's distinctive sound comes from blending different voices and instruments. Their voices support one another in perfect harmony, likely due to the fact that they have been making music together since they were children.

The musicians in Mushy Callahan are all Alberta Natives who moved to Toronto. Thus far, they have released their debut EP entitled "Man On The Run," which is an incredible mix of classic and indie rock, a unique flavor of music that they have become known for.

Ultimately, the boys are looking forward to touring the U.K. and Canada in 2013, sharing their music with the world and supporting the spring release of their debut full length album.

FORT LEE, NJ, April 20, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lucine Amara, Artistic Director of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (Verismo Opera), announces veteran opera bass, Harry Dworchak, will return to the stage to debut in the company's premiere of Giacomo Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. He will perform the role of Maestro Spinelloccio.

Verismo Opera will present this comedic dark opera in conjunction with the company's new production of Ruggero Leoncavallo's tragic love story, I Pagliacci. The double bill will be performed on Sunday, April 21 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey.

"Verismo Opera is honored and humbled by Mr. Dworchak's decision to sing the role of Maestro Spinelloccio in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi," said Amara.

For 40 years, Dworchak has sung operas and concerts on the world's greatest stages. In the New Jersey State Opera's 1974 production of Puccini's Turandot, he performed as Timor with Birgit Nilsson, Placido Domingo and Licia Albanese. Taking a curious pinnacle of the Italian bass repertory on November 4, 1986 at the New York City Opera, he sang one of the most challenging roles for a bass, Arrigo Boito's Mefistofele.

Dworchak made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 1987 as Ferrando in Giuseppe Verdi's Il trovatore, retiring from the Met in 2002. He won the prestigious Richard Tucker Award and sang his first Wotans at the Stadttheater Augsgurg and debuted with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in the role of Scarpia in Puccini's Tosca.

For the last 30 years, he has taught vocal technique. "To sing one repertoire on the world's stages is difficult enough, but for the last 25 years, I have been singing three repertoires," said Dworchak.

    Full Productions

Under Lucine Amara, one of the Metropolitan Opera's luminary performers, Verismo Opera will present the one-act operas fully staged with a live orchestra. Stage Director and Canadian soprano Evelyn La Quaif directs the new productions. The program features the aria "O mio babbino caro", one of the most popular arias in opera.

Internationally renowned Principal Conductor/Music Director Anthony Morss will conduct the performance of I Pagliacci and Mara Waldman will conduct Gianni Schicchi for the first time. The performances will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. A complete cast will perform in period costumes designed by Catherine Mirabella and Barbara Konig.

    Tickets

Special discounts are available for children and senior citizens to see these performances. Children, ages 12 and under, are eligible to receive a $10 ticket to see Gianni Schicchi and I Pagliacci. Senior citizens, ages 65 and over, purchasing regular-priced tickets on non-sale dates are entitled to a 10% discount. For further information about the special discounted children's or senior discount tickets, call (201) 227-1030 or toll free 1-888-PACSHOW.

Buy Cagney & Lacey: The Limited-Edition Complete Series on DVD and receive at no additional cost, the Elvis: Remix Collection audio collection (a $69.95 value). Available only at www.cagneyandlacey.com

Cagney & Lacey: The Limited-Edition Complete Series (38 discs, 119 episodes, 93+ hours plus 29 hours of special features) was recently released in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the iconic show's television premiere, making the entire series available for the first time in any home entertainment format. The set also includes a photo autographed by series stars, Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless.

With the purchase of Cagney & Lacey: The Limited-Edition Complete Series ($139.95), receive the two-CD, limited-edition set, Elvis: Remix Collection - in a numbered, collectible velvet box with rhinestone letters - featuring many of the king of rock 'n' roll's biggest hits carefully remixed and re-mastered with cutting-edge technology. Features 44 songs, including such mega hits as "Don't Be Cruel," "Jailhouse Rock," "All Shook Up," "Hound Dog," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Let Me be Your Teddy Bear," "It's Now or Never" and more!

Cagney & Lacey - which aired on CBS for seven seasons (1981-88) - was not only an enormously popular series that set entertainment industry standards and broke records, but was groundbreaking in its impact on women's issues and other provocative topics (off-limits on most shows of the day) such as sexuality, equal pay, workplace ethics and politics, sexual harassment, domestic violence, date rape, incest, breast cancer, abortion, illegal immigration, addiction and other complex social/personal themes. Frequently controversial, the show fought a virtually ongoing battle with the network's standards and practices office.

The series attracted 30 million viewers a week and garnered 36 Emmy Award nominations and 14 wins - including two for "Outstanding Drama Series" and combined "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" wins for six years in a row, a streak unmatched to this day in any major category - as well as two Golden Globe Awards and a host of other honors.

So influential and groundbreaking was Gless' work in Cagney & Lacey - which continued with her current role as a PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) mom on Queer as Folk - that the Canadian LGBTQ community honored Gless April 15 in Toronto. Presenting a PFLAG Ally-of-the-Year Award for Gless' tireless contributions to the community, both on screen and off, was Emmy Award-winner Rosie O'Donnell.

The Museum of Broadcast Communications called Cagney & Lacey "... deservedly, one of the most widely discussed programs in television history." Wrote The Telegraph (London) about a reunion celebration last year in the U.K. (where the show was equally popular), "The near-hysteria and deep affection are testament to the success of the series. It was, and remains, quite something: One of the very few popular shows on television ever to show real women living real lives and coping with real problems."

WALDORF, MD, April 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Few have experienced what Gary Samuels has and are still here to tell the story. Bouts with cancer, paralysis, partial blindness, and the death of a child are just some of the life-changing challenges he's had to endure. Samuels understands that it's only by the grace of God that he's been kept. Now the Harlem-based artist is recounting his life on stage. Gospel of The Blues, partially based on the life of Samuels, is a play which has been presented on the East Coast, in California and in Madrid, Spain. On Sunday, May 19, 2013, Gospel of The Blues will be playing in Gary's hometown at the Milton N. Sparks Auditorium of The Baptist House of Prayer (80-82 West 126th Street between 5th and Lenox Avenue, New York, NY). Doors will open at 3PM with the play starting at 4PM. The cost of tickets, $20, includes a pre-show light snack served from 3PM until 3:45PM. For more information, call 212.722.3783.

The Gospel of the Blues, a theatrical drama, takes a humorous look at the family and the struggles of day-to-day living. The play takes the audience on a hand-clapping, foot-stomping, side-splitting journey. It was written and directed by Versatile Entertainment's Gary Samuels and features a cast of talented actors including members of The Prayz'n Hymn Ensemble. In addition to Samuels, cast members include Carla Ransom, Jenee Carter, Jesse Hicks, Jeanette Coleman-Alexander, Bernice Winbush, Myna Majors, Laurie Kingsberry, Kimberly Early, Jahlil Mack and Dona Hambric. Music will be performed by The Judd Neilson Project.

Samuels is no stranger to the stage. He was in the 1978 tour company of The Wiz and the 1980 tour company of Ain't Misbehavin'. He was also the Assistant Dance Director at South Carolina State College; in addition, his entertainment resume includes roles as the Dance Director for the Barnwell Dance Theater and the Artistic Dance Director for the Minisink Townhouse in Harlem.

In addition to the play, Samuels is putting the finishing touches on a brand new release, a follow-up to 2012's Grace of God. Soundtrack of My Soul will deliver the impeccable vocals Gary is known for. Songs like "Higher", a hyperactive and inspirational cut and the riveting track, "One By One", will be part of the artist's fourth CD. The new release contains other songs like the mid-tempo "Praise Down Inside" and the mellow "The Answer". The project will be released in the summer of 2013.

A five-octave range and a tonal quality that rivals some of today's best singers, Gary Samuels is truly a divine instrument used to inspire. He's been blessed to sing for President George Bush, President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Pope John Paul II and Nelson Mandela. He's performed at The Apollo and Radio City Music Hall and sang with Opera Diva Grace Bumbry and Jazz Great Wynton Marsalis. Also, he's opened up for Gospel Artists Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary and Kelly Price and headlined a concert with Kim Burrell in 2011.

One of fifteen children, he was surrounded by music with a father who was a jazz pianist, and a mother who was a pianist and singer. After honing his chops at church, he sang for countless choirs including the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Choir and The United Negro College Fund Choir. As he continued to sing, his love for the musical art form grew, but it always seemed like he was the loudest in the bunch. "I was always referred to as 'big mouth,'" recalls Gary. "I just couldn't sing soft - although I tried. People would tell me that in a group of dozens of singers, they could hear me!" He loved singing Gospel music, but it wasn't until his cancer diagnosis in 1984 when his calling in Gospel music was solidified. After a miraculous healing, he knew that God had His hand on him.
